The Upper Retreat

This project focused on rethinking the top floor of a family home in Frederiksberg to create a calm and intimate master suite, away from the rhythm of daily family life. The challenge was to transform a multi-purpose attic space into a fully functional retreat, combining a bathroom adapted to the sloped ceiling, optimised storage, a small workspace, and a flexible relaxation area. The design aimed to balance practicality and comfort while enhancing the natural light and character of the space. The material palette draws inspiration from a Mediterranean sensibility, with natural textures and soft blue and green accents subtly referencing the sea, creating a warm and serene atmosphere designed for rest and quiet moments.
